Body Solid Fitness

I am trying to get a solid body, how much would you suggest me to gain? I am 17 years old, 5′8″, 153 LBs.
I have been thinking about when is the right time for me to start working out and mass gain since I am involved with sports. I also need to learn a lot about fitness to avoid risks and injuries. Is there anything I should know about protein shakes? Do you have a good program for me to begin with? With all work-outs information and health issuses.
and what would you suggest me to do during my first four months of school before soccer season begins (on the month of November) keep working out or practice techniques?
solid body??? WTF are you liquid or something??? any who its my obligation as a trainer to help you. First throw that crap about shakes and pills out of your mind they dont help theres plenty of research to back it up. Different sports require different demands on the body for example long time endurance such as basketball vs short bursts of energy such as a sprinter. By birth you’re muscle fiber type has been determined and the most improvements can be done through the training within the muscle parameters, but other training can be done. Most gains start through the mind and through knowledge much research has gone to imagination training and imagining yourself going though an exercise in your mind as if you were doing it has yielded great results, just a sample how strong the mind is. It all starts with baby steps if you want to be great in what you do i suggest you put some time to research the neuro-muscular connection, enjoy brilliant student
